Service Platform delivers services that differentiate Expedia Group
in the travel marketplace for our Partners and Travelers, along
with building tools that support human agents of all types.We are
seeking a high-performing Data Scientist III to join our Traveler
and Service Partner (TPSP) Analytics team. In this role, you will
tackle sophisticated analytical and business challenges, with a
focus on applying statistics and data analytics to improve
operations and service efficiency. You will drive change by
generating actionable insights, mentoring junior colleagues, and
managing complex analytical projects from start to finish. The
position requires regular interaction with stakeholders up to the
VP level and the ability to communicate data-driven insights that
influence positive business outcomes.In This role, you will:
- Collaborate with stakeholders & domain experts to understand
business needs, define project goals, and align on data analysis
approaches.
- Lead analytical projects, defining, building, and refining
models that offer valuable insights into business challenges.
- Apply advanced statistical techniques (e.g., regression, ANOVA,
A/B testing) and machine learning concepts to deliver insights that
drive change.
- Create clear and effective data visualizations (preferably
using Tableau), tailoring insights for both technical and
non-technical audiences.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the team's continuous
learning and development.Experience and qualifications:
- You hold a Ph.D., Master's, or Bachelor's degree in
Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field, with a proven track
record of delivering data-driven insights that drive performance
improvements.
- You have expertise in programming with Python for building data
science models, predictive modeling, hypothesis testing (e.g.,
t-tests, ANOVA), and statistical analysis using libraries like
NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-learn.
- You are proficient in data analysis, visualization tools
(Python, R, SQL), and experienced in creating clear, impactful
visualizations for diverse audiences, utilizing tools such as
ggplot and Plotly.
- You have hands-on experience working with large datasets,
conducting feature engineering, and applying statistical techniques
like regression analysis, A/B testing, and machine learning.
- You possess advanced proficiency in SQL and data querying tools
(Presto, Hive, BigQuery) and are knowledgeable in basic data
engineering concepts for handling data at scale.
- You independently manage end-to-end analytical projects,
collaborating cross-functionally to align on business goals while
continuously refining processes and building scalable data
products.The total cash range for this position in Seattle is
$137,500.00 to $192,500.00. Employees in this role have the
potential to increase their pay up to $220,000.00, which is the top
of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained
