Job Description:
The Accountant facilitates and administers an efficient and
effective process of billing and collection of executed grants
contracts and cash receipts.Reports To: Director of Government and
Community GrantsSchedule: In-person Monday through Friday 8:30AM to
5:00PMessential dutiesGrants and Contracts AdministrationReview
grant contracts, awards and policies to identify fiscal
requirements and allowable costs for compliance and grant billing
requirements and other deliverables.Set up new grants when
received; generate an ID, enter budget information into the
financial system and update the invoicing and reporting
trackers.Ensure timely billing to grantors for services rendered as
allowed in the contract.Track aging of receivables and follow up as
necessary for timely payments.Copy receipts and provide
documentation required by the grantor.Inform management of any
audited findings overdue invoices and budget concerns.Provide
advice and problem-solving support to Directors and Managers of
Program to meet grant requirements.Update and present quarterly
financial reports to Directors and Managers of Program.Prepare
financial reports per grantor requirements.Maintain grant billing
documentation in an organized and searchable manner.Support the
Finance Department in annual audit and site visits.Assist with
preparation of annual operating budget.job requirementsa. Education
and ExperienceBachelor's degree in accounting or finance
required.Minimum of 1 year experience in general accounting and
accounts payable.Non-profit experience preferred.Grant Accounting
experience preferred.Demonstrated working knowledge of MS365 Power
Platform.b. Additional RequirementsMust satisfactorily pass
criminal history check.Must satisfactorily pass tuberculosis (TB)
test.Must have reliable transportation and a valid Washington State
driver's license (or be able to obtain one by date of
employment).Employees and volunteers who operate their own or
Friends of Youth vehicles on Friends of Youth business, must have a
safe driving record as defined by Friends of Youth.Employees and
volunteers who operate their own vehicle(s) on Friends of Youth
business must carry auto liability insurance that complies with the
requirements of Friends of Youth.Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is
required. There are no exemptions.Ability to be onsite in Kirkland,
WA Monday through Friday 8:30AM to 5:00PMc. Knowledge, Skills and

requirementsKnowledge of County and Federal HHS/HUD grant
guidelines preferred and/or able to quickly learn and apply these
types of requirements.Strong organizational, analytical and
problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Able to work
independently, self-direct and obtain the information needed to
perform daily and evolving functions.Able to manage multiple tasks
and projects, meet multiple and often conflicting deadlines and
keep up with a fast-paced ever changing work
environment.Demonstrate flexibility in work settings, maturity of
judgement and ability to maintain cooperative diplomatic working
relationships with co-workers, directors, managerial team and
grantors. Proficient skill set with Microsoft Office programs.d.
